I now have a gay boyfriend! Disfellowship me!
by TimothyT ini cant believe how amazing i now feel as opposed to how aweful my life was but 4 months ago.. after some careful consideration, i decided to be gay despite being a jw.. the moment i chose this course, my life became so positive and i noticeably felt happy again.. 3 months ago i met a lovely man who took an interest in me.
one week ago we decided it was time to become boyfriends.. well, i feel incredible.
all i can say is that this course of life based on my being true to myself, despite the fact that it contradicts what i have been brought up to believe, has made life worth living again.. despite being gay, and slowly coming out to those who matter to me, i also have come to realise how flawed this organisation is anyway.. im a keen bible student but i dont see the organisations claim to authority.. to be honest, ill be glad to get out of it and start living my life as happily as i can whilst still trying my best to serve god.. thanks to those who supported me and of course to my boyfriend 'jackal' who joined this forum in order to understand what has made up my entire upbringing!.

It looks like they just pantsed him. Big deal. People are so damned lawsuit oriented. Sexual abuse? Hardly.

THE INTERNET - The Means For A Global Revolution?
by sizemik inwe recently had a tour here in new zealand from the musical legend herbie hancock.
during the tour he engaged in a media interview where he expressed himself about the effects of the internet on the global community.. he spoke with intelligence and refreshing optimism about the potential of the internet and the opportunities it opens up for the world community.. in short (and i'm going only from memory here), he expressed how he felt the drawing together of individuals through the internet, and the opportunity for large groups of people to speak with a combined voice, had the capacity to initiate major change.
he highlighted the further potential for large, instantaneous, interest groups, to both highlight issues and bring pressure on world leaders to initiate change.. a recent example is the petitioning of ugandan govt officials regarding the proposed harsh anti-gay legislation being presented before the ugandan parliament.

Does this mean you can make a revolution by spamming the leaders? Hmmmm, a little suspect to me.

PROTESTS AT WATCHTOWER CONVENTIONS
by Lawrence Hughes indear friends,.
as you may know, the watchtower society takes great pride in its district conventions.
please contact me if you can attend any of these protests.. there is no reason why every district convention in the world could not have a protest and receive media coverage to expose the watchtower society.

Simon, please ban Rick for his foolishness and negativity towards this forum. He is an irritant with no purpose other than clog up the database we search here for meaningful information. Again I encourage you to: Ban Rick F.

After Exiting the Witnesses - Are you O.K. Not Knowing about the Future ?
by flipper init seems that religion has always been considered the opium of the people.
or at least many tend to gravitate towards religion to have or solidify some sort of future with a supreme being overlooking them hoping to have a reward either in heaven or in the jehovah's witnesses case - living forever in a " paradise earth ".
it seems that people can't just live day to day and let each day come to them with whatever happens.

The future? There are predictors, ie: health, finances etc. but to have a theological outline of what will happen? Don't need it. Anything that happens will probably have happened before so I guess its not much of a future so much as a repetition of the past. I just want it to be less difficult than joyous. I'm working on behavior that will make it joyous.

I am thinking about voting
by Bucholz inso, i am thinking about voting for the first time in my life.
even though there is a questions from readers article that basically mentioned it is a conscience matter, we all know what the unwritten rule is.. problem is, even though i'm mentally out, i'm still physically in.
do you think that if i'm seen at the polling station by the witnesses i could suffer any consequences?

I voted this year for the first time. It felt great. I did it because the initiatives here in CA were important. I don't know about the Presidential election. Seems futile. Probably will if Mickey Mouse is running again though he may be a libertarian. I voted in the next city over, the county seat, where no one would be because it was the voting headquarters and It would seem I was on court business or something. To vote in my own little city would be inviting disaster. Usually its a school gym or civic center where they vote here. Next time I'll vote via mail, its more convenient any way.

Elders refuse to give evidence of a molester and the molester gets away with it!
by punkofnice inthis is the first part where the eldubs refuse to do the honourable thing.

...and here is the even sadder conclusion........ http://www.saipantribune.com/newsstory.aspx?cat=1&newsid=109359.

It is highly unlikely that the court abides by the "two witness" rule. If they put all the evidence out, he should have been convicted. Just the word of the alleged victim should have been enough. The jury is not going to want to see any physical evidence because there likely would be none. It is highly unusual for a victim NOT to be believed. I'm sure there is more to this than those fools not testifying though they should have done so. These cases are seldom simple. I hope that he is in fact innocent.

I disagree. I have a large following of ex witnesses. Three in fact, Me, Myself and I. We go everywhere together. We are out to get THEM.

C.T.Russell..did you know............
by Snoozy indid you know that the man that helped form the jehovah's witness religion only had 7 years of schooling?.
"in june 1912 reverend j.j. ross, pastor of the james street baptist church in hamilton, ontario, published the pamphlet, some facts about the self-styled 'pastor' charles t. russell, denouncing russell, his qualifications as a minister, and his moral example as a pastor.
russell promptly sued ross for "defamatory libel".

Russell stipulated in his will that nothing more was to be added to the Studies and that they should stick with what he taught. Ol'Joe blew it off and started writing his rainbow books. The old poop got a mansion with a pool in San Diego out of the deal.
